These train services run in the most preferred tourist destinations. Managed by Indian Railways and the IRCTC managed and run 5 luxury trains in India – namely Maharajas’ Express, Palace on Wheels, The Deccan Odyssey, Golden Chariot and Royal Rajasthan on Wheels which cater to various tourist circuits throughout India.
Maharaja’s Express:
Owned and operated by IRCTC, Maharajas' Express is the most expensive luxury train in India. It runs between October and April, covering around 12 destinations, most of which lie in Rajasthan. The variety of cabins they offer Deluxe, Junior Suite, Suite and Presidential Suite. The Per Person cabin Price ranges from $5980 to $23700.
The train offers a range of five itineraries between the months of September and April. It is the newest and most costly luxury train in India, equipped with world class facilities including large dining, bar, lounge, generator, LCD TVs, direct dial phone, internet, individual temperature controls and in suite bathroom as well. Due to its exceptional service and standard, it was voted ‘World’s Leading Luxury Train’ for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, consecutively.
