    Day 1

    Arrive Kathmandu

    Arrive Kathmandu, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

    Kathmandu is the largest city and the capital of Nepal. Once thought to be the fabled and inaccessible Shangri-La, Kathmandu is a growing vacation. In the distant dawn of unrecorded time, so legend tells us, the valley of Kathmandu was a turquoise lake with a wondrous lotus flower resting on it.

    The Kathmandu valley comprises the three ancient Royal cities of Patan, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu having their own palaces and ornate palace squares each listed as World Heritage sites.

    Later, half day day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath Stupa.

    Kathmandu Durbar Square is located in the heart of old city Kathmandu. The founding of the Durbar (Royal Palace) dates back to Licchavi times. With considerable renovations by Malla rulers and later the Ranas, construction was accomplished progressively over many centuries. There are around 50 temples in the vicinity. Visit the 17th Century Durbar complex, Hanuman Dhoka, Paravati temple, great Bell and Drum, Bhairav, Taleju Temple and array of temples grouped around it. A few steps away are the Temple of the Living Goddess, where the clients may catch a glimpse of the Kumari at one of the open windows overlooking the inner courtyard.

    Atop a green hillock west of Kathmandu stands the great stupa of Swoyambhunath, a site over 2,500 years old .This huge stupa is one of the holiest Buddhists sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu. The faithful circumambulate of the stupa clockwise, turning the banks of prayer wheels and even prostrating full-length are done in reverence.

    Day 2

    Kathmandu

    Full day, excursion of Pashupatinath temple, Bodhnath stupa and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

    Pashupatinath Temple is considered as one of the holiest shrines of all the Hindu temples in the whole world. The temple of lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, with a tiered golden roof and silver doors is famous for its superb architecture. Entrance to the temple precinct is forbidden to non-Hindus. The Bagmati River, which runs next to Pashaputinath Temple, has highly sacred properties is lined with dharmasalas and cremation ghats including a royal ghat reserved exclusively for members of the royal family.

    Boudhanath is the biggest Stupa in Nepal and is located on flat land and encircled by houses & monasteries, where Rinpoches reside. Boudhanath is also known as `little Tibet’ because of its unique atmosphere resembling old Barkhor marketplace in Lhasa. Many Tibetans visit here as a place of pilgrimage and trading. Visit nearby monasteries and mediate for some time with monks and possibility to get blessings.

    Bhaktapur also known as Bhadgaon is the home of medieval art & architecture and still retains its rich medieval aroma. A city of farmers, Bhaktapur is also known for its pottery and weaving. Bhaktapur is the most charming and the best preserved of the valley’s three cities.

    Overnight Kathmandu

    Day 3

    Kathmandu / Chitwan (Surface)

    After breakfast, drive through scenic mountain highway to Chitwan National Park (187Kms / 05Hrs approx.)

    Chitwan National Park is proud to be called Asia’s one of the best managed parks and is home to over 50 species of mammals, 55 species of amphibians and reptiles and 525 species of birds. Wildlife that thrive here include; the great one-horned Asian Rhinoceros, Gaur, wild Bison, sloth Bear, four different species of Deer, the Rhesus Monkey and the black-faced Langur, the spotted Leopard, the Gharial, the marsh Crocodile and the Gangetic Dolphin. It is also one of the last refuges of the Royal Bengal tiger. The birdlife too is very rich and varied and a delight for Ornithologists.

    Lunch at your hotel in Chitwan.

    Afternoon, commence on an elephant back safari to explore the jungle and the various wildlife: the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, Himalayan sloth bear, spotted leopard and, if lucky, the elusive nocturnal Royal Bengal tiger too.

    This exciting ride lasts for 1.5-2 hours.

    Dinner and overnight Chitwan

    Day 4

    Chitwan National Park

    Full day jungle activities such as jungle/nature walk, dugout canoe ride and tribal village visit etc.

     

    Jungle walk tour allows you to explore different habitat, from the flood-plain grassland to the dense Sal forests, where you get the opportunity of good animal sights at your own pace. Since it is disturbs the animals less while walking through the forest, it is usually a better chance for discovering wildlife. During the walk, you will also get a chance to see the different kind of plants and herbs in the National park. The naturalists can give thorough descriptions of the wildlife and herbs there.

     

    Floating down on the River by dugout canoe is the best way to discover the habitat of crocodiles on the bank of the river. It is also a relaxing and better way to watch the different kind of aquatic birds and wildlife species when they come to the bank of the river to drink water.

     

    Lunch at your hotel in Chitwan

    Go on a conducted tour to the nearby Tharu village. Tharu are indigenous people of the Terai. They have a distinct architectural style, building solely of the natural materials found in the area; straw, wood and mud. The villages are often peaceful, non-industrial havens, with the inhabitants engaged in a yearly agricultural circle.

    (Jungle activities may be changed or altered depending on the requirement and situations)

    Evening, slide show on flora & fauna of the Chitwan park OR folk dance performance by local tribal group. People of the nearby villages (Tharu) will show some of their traditional skills and melodious tribal dances. Your participation is highly recommended.

     

    Dinner and overnight Chitwan

    Day 5

    Chitwan / Pokhara (Surface)

    After breakfast, check out and drive to Pokhara (165 kms / 05Hrs approx. )

     

    Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty, situated at an altitude of 900m from the sea level and 200km west of Kathmandu valley. The enchanting town has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic.

     

    Check in at hotel and rest of the day is free.  Evening stroll around Phewa lake (on own).

     

    Overnight Pokhara

    Day 6

    Pokhara

    Early morning, excursion to Sarangkote hill for sunrise and Mountain View (weather permitting)

     

    Sarangkote is the most popular view point in Pokhara. Situated at an altitude of 1,592m, Sarangkote offers the magnificent view of Mt. Machhapuchhare and Annapurna Massif (weather permitting). You can also have a good aerial view of Pokhara valley from here.

     

    After breakfast, halfday sightseeing tour of Pokhara including Davi’s fall, Gupteshwor Cave, the old Bazaar, Bindhyabasini Temple and One hour boat ride

     

    Locally known as Patale Chhahgo, Davi’s fall is an awesome waterfall lying about 2km south-west of the center on the highway to Tansen. In July 1961, Swiss couples were bathing in the stream Pardi Khola, just above the fall. A sudden flood from the Fewa Dam swept away Mrs. David and mysteriously disappeared down in to an underground passage beneath the fall and since fall has been called Davi’s fall. Just opposite of Davis fall, visit Gupteshwor Cave. Also visit Pokhara’s traditional old bazaar which is colorful and is ethnically diverse. Newar architecture and craftsmanship is expressed in its temple and windows. The past richness is expressed in its art and craftsmanship. Bindhyabasini Temple is the center of religious activities in the old bazaar. It is dedicated to Goddess, Bhagawati, and another manifestation of Shati.

     

    Later, take an hour boat ride on Phewa lake in Pokhara.

     

    Phewa Lake is the largest lake in Pokhara valley, measuring 1.5 by 4km. lake is best situated for boating and Bird watching and especially photographing the scenic mountains.

     

    Return to your hotel and rest of the day is at leisure.

     

    Overnight Pokhara

    Day 7

    Pokhara / Kathmandu (Surface)

    Morning, drive back to Kathmandu retracing the same highway (200 kms / 06Hrs approx.).

    Arrive Kathmandu, check in at hotel and rest of the day is free.

     

    Overnight Kathmandu

    Day 8

    Kathmandu / Home (Flight)

    Breakfast at hotel. You are free till departure (Check out time: 1200 noon)

     

    Later, transfer to the airport in time to connect your international flight back home.
